House move a success

15 March, 2009 - 21:52

Operation ‘Move house while being ill’ was a complete success. In both senses. I moved house, and I was physically ill during it.

I owe a massive thank-you to my sister Jenna and her man Phil for helping out, without them (and their van) it would have been a nightmare. We still have loads of stuff to move but have a couple of weeks to cart that from one place to the next. Rosie displayed exemplary timing by being in Berlin just when we moved.

The illness took the form of a bad head-cold that took me away from work early on Friday and laid me low for the majority of Saturday. This morning I had no choice but to get up and get on - I just hope that Jenna and Phil don’t catch it.

On the bright side they brought Phil’s lovely little dog with them, Tarka, who is a Patterdale terrier (mostly, the rest is a bit of Jack Russell and a bit of Cairn Terrier). She is incredibly excitable, no doubt to make up for Phil’s calmness.
